Indeed! I will probably continue to use Latex for more extensive documentation that uses mathematical formulae, but it is good to see that this possibility exists.
Another interesting feature is Mermaid to include diagrams in Markdown. Unfortunately, it is not yet available for the Wiki pages:

You could do it on Discourse for a while now. It’s been long overdue for GitHub, and a very simple feature to add.
