An idea that keeps coming to my mind to promote articles about Fortran is to create a recurring (monthly?) contest offering a monetary prize for the best Fortran article.
We would need:
- People interested in funding this initiative
- A set of rules and objectives
- A small committee that would read and decide the winner
It is a parallel initiative besides investing in more tools.
The articles should be published in blogs, replicated in fortran-lang, retweeted by us, etc. We should try to get these articles posted on good programming blogs too.
We have to create this “hype” feeling.
