Announcing wxFortran: modern Fortran interface to the wxWidgets GUI toolkit. Similar to qt-fortran, this is an AI-assisted creation written in Fortran (there’s a small C++ layer but the user never has to use that directly). So, you can write your GUI completely in Fortran, because why not?
Standard disclaimer: work in progress, experimental, etc.
Not too long ago, there were no open source options for writing sophisticated GUIs in Fortran. I think gtk-fortran was the first? Now we have at least three:
I use Intel Fortran, but it doesn’t have toolbar. I have to draw it with opengl.the benefit is that I can draw icon anywhere I want inside the opengl area.
I have tried to build qt-fortran application with Intel Fortran. But it runs into a problem that it can’t interpret the path of vc tool with space. gFortran is all good.
