Gary Klimowicz has created a GitHub mirror of the US Fortran Standards Committee site, containing meeting notes and proposals that have been submitted, as far back as 1969. Thanks to @gak for creating the mirror and to @sblionel for maintaining the J3 site and serving as convenor of WG5.
A couple of minor corrections. Gary’s mirror is his own creation, though I certainly encouraged him and made it easier, but it is not an effort of the US Fortran standard committee (INCITS/Fortran, also known as J3.) Also, I am the Convenor of WG5, the international committee; Reuben Budiardja is the US committee’s chairperson. I do host and maintain j3-fortran.org .
Thanks. I hope my amended message fixed the errors.
Steve: Please let me know if you would like me to add any clarifications or anything to fortran-lang/j3-fortran README as well.
Gary, I assume you mean the README of the mirror? The only part that bothered me was “Since it can be cumbersome to navigate the official site” - I don’t see that the mirror is any easier to navigate, since it is organized in an identical fashion, but it is probably easier to search (at least for Linux users), as the Google search I use doesn’t find everything.
Yes, the mirror.
I shall make it so! Thanks for the comment, Steve.
(I only considered it easier to navigate as there is a single folder with all the papers. I’ll change the README, in any case.)
