Hi everyone,
I’ve quietly launched my Fortran book “Modern Software Design in Fortran” before the summer break, and would like to announce it here today. The book is based on the 8-part training program that I’ve designed for the Fortran programmers at Deltares in Delft, the Netherlands. I’m a software developer since 2002 and have written several programming-related books already, either about general object-oriented programming and software architecture, or specifically about PHP and programming for the web. The subject matter of Fortran programs is quite different from web applications, but during my work at Deltares it became clear that Fortran code is in many ways like any other code and benefits from general programming best practices and principles.
I’m curious about your opinions about the book, as professional Fortran programmers, and offer you a nice introduction discount for the digital version: Modern Software Design in Fortran [Leanpub PDF/iPad/Kindle] . If your organization/institute would like to receive a paper copy, please send me a direct message.
Also (I know some of you are here on this forum and hope that I’m mentioning you correctly), I’d like to thank @Arjen @milancurcic Michael Metcalf, @JohnReid and Malcolm Cohen for your inspiration!
