GSoC 2025 – Extended Testing Support (fpm)

Hello Fortran community,

My name is Saif Ali Khan, and I am excited to contribute to Fortran-lang as part of Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025. I am particularly interested in the Extended Testing Support for fpm project and would love to learn more about its scope and how I can contribute effectively.

About Me:

  • Programming Background: I have experience with programming, unit testing, and software development. While I am still exploring Fortran, I have worked with languages like C++, Java, Kotlin.
  • Algorithmic Interests: I have a strong interest in competitive programming and data structures & algorithms.
  • Expertise: My background is in computer science, and I am also interested in backend development and DevOps.
  • Location & Language: I am from India, and my native language is Hindi. I am also fluent in English.

How I’d Like to Get Started:

I would appreciate guidance on the best way to contribute to this project. Are there specific issues, discussions, or documentation that would help me get started? Any insights into the expected challenges would be valuable as well.

Looking forward to engaging with the community and learning more!

Best regards,
Saif Ali Khan

okay sir

Welcome to the forum Saif @f-ei8ht!

For the patch requirement that @certik has mentioned, you may want to consider choosing from any of the open issues, there are quite a few that are relatively easy to address even if you are not familiar with fpm yet.
