I read the post on the Soup program I posted on the Intel Fortran Forum. I have played with that program for 35 years, I have tried quite a few RNG including the MS Fortran, the CVF Fortran and Basic, you looked at a copy where I was just fooling around looking at making an RNG from a clock signal. I did not post the many variants of the program, merely the last one where I was just looking to see if I could find a physical process to use as an RNG. I am sorry I expected you would substitute in your preferred RNG as I had not played with the program for a few years.
The program does not run to completion on anything except the Basic RNG.
I am not disparaging the program, merely noting that it has never run to the solution of 100 with Fortran but Basic always gets there. Every single time. If it had run on Fortran I would have pursued its use, but as it does not I did not.
I do not talk about things I have not played with.
If you can solve the Fortran RNG problem that would be interesting to see.
