The ad lists Python, C, and C++ as the required programming skills but much of the software listed under preferred qualifications is Fortran software. And since it’s a research position the candidate would likely have significant agency in the choice of the tech stack.
Interesting, but I wonder how the job is expected to increase the profits of TikTok. Especially with a recession likely, I would worry that management would cut such positions. AT&T could afford to fund fundamental research at Bell Labs when it was effectively a monopoly.
