Hi everyone!
I’m Mohammed Ameen, a recent engineering graduate and currently working as a SDE at BlackBuck. I’m excited to start contributing to this community and am particularly interested in the “Python Environment Manager (vscode-fortran-support)” project as part of Google Summer of Code 2025.
My love for programming goes way back in time when I was studying my Bachelour’s of technology from National Institute Of Technology Warangal (India). I really enjoyed coding in python for its simplicity and huge community support.
This project caught my attention because it lies at the intersection of everything I enjoy developer tooling, Python environments, and creating seamless experiences for users working in scientific domains.
Although i am professionally engaged, I consider myself a lifelong learner with a deep interest in open source and its collaborative spirit. I’ve had experience building full-stack applications, managing complex Python environments for machine learning projects, and improving both frontend and backend systems in production.
Tools like virtual environments, Conda, and package managers are part of my daily workflow, and I believe I can bring valuable perspective to simplifying environment setup and tool integration for Fortran developers.
Fortran-lang excites me because it values a long-standing, practical language while making thoughtful updates that meet today’s needs. I appreciate its focus on genuine, real-world improvements. Looking forward to learn and contribute meaningfully this summer.
