GSoC 2024 Applicant: adding MPI support to fortls

Dear Fortran Community,
I am writing here to express my interest in participating as a contributor in gsoc 2024 by working on adding mpi support to fortls project under @gnikit mentorship this summer.

About me:
I am a third year bachelors student of computer science in India at Manipal University Jaipur.I am really passionate about building stuff and have worked on various python ml projects.
I have not worked much in open source projects apart from contributing a little bit to carla(an open source autonomous driving sim) last summer.

I am currently going through fortls and related repositories and i believe my skills as python backend developer would be helpful in contributing to this project.

I am really excited to join and work with this wonderful fortran community and learn more stuff with and from you all.

Hi @azzam welcome to Fortran-lang. I have responded to your private message with some details for the project. Unfortunately, I can’t think off the top of my head any good first Issues, but I am sure there are some low hanging fruit in the fortls repo.
