FoBiS v3.9.0 is out
FoBiS was born to build one Fortran project without makefiles. But it has grown in recent years, and alongside many other features, v3.9.0 manages the whole ecosystem.
New: fobis ecosystem
Register your repositories once:
fobis ecosystem add PENF FACE BeFoR64 StringiFor FLAP
and then:
- See everything at once —
fobis ecosystem dashboard: one row per repository with the releases due (version bump computed from Conventional Commits, counting only commits that touch shipped files), CI at HEAD, scaffold drift, and dependencies built against stale heads. In the terminal, as JSON, or as a self-contained HTML page with a live dependency diagram and 9 themes (Solarized, Dracula, Nord, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, Gruvbox, …), light/dark/auto. - Check before you release —
fobis ecosystem check PENFbuilds and tests every downstream project against your local, uncommitted PENF, in throwaway copies: find out what breaks before anyone else does. - Release train —
fobis ecosystem releasereleases everything that needs it, dependencies first. Pre-flight runs on all repositories before anything starts (one dirty tree or red CI and nothing moves), you confirm the plan, each tag is verified on the remote, the GitHub release is awaited, dependents are refreshed — and the first failure stops the train with the exact command to resume. - Act everywhere —
exec -- 'fobis clean && fobis build',fetch, scaffold sync: across all repositories, in dependency order, with a pass/fail summary.

Nothing commits or pushes without your confirmation, and a prompt that cannot be answered always means no.
FoBiS, from one Fortran project to a whole ecosystem.
No makefiles, no boilerplate, no release-day surprises.
