Fortran I/O feels like a language in itself, and that is why I will support the f-string to have something that is workable on a small subset of it (as we all know in python it’s pretty powerful). 
I also think if we try to combine the full capabilities of Fortran I/O with f-string in some sane way, something as powerful as the Python f-string can be created.
