My name is Paul Kagan, a Junior Engineer (CPI) based in Montreal, Canada. I am very interested in the “Library to work with OS processes” project for GSoC 2026.
My background is in computer engineering with a strong focus on POSIX environments and system-level programming. I’ve spent significant time working on resilient architectures and hardware-software abstraction. I believe that bridging the gap between Fortran and low-level OS APIs (subprocess creation, signal handling, and process control) is critical for modern scientific workflows.
I’ve already started looking at the existing stdlib_os WIP. Are there any specific “good first issues” or technical areas you’d like me to explore before I draft my full proposal?
