I was looking through StackOverflow and I realised that Fortran is not supported for syntax highlighting in code blocks, which I find absurd. After some searching I found that there is already an open Feature Request [Please deploy Fortran syntax highlighting - Meta Stack Exchange](https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/358865/please-deploy-fortran-syntax-highlighting) for just that, but has been mostly ignored by SO.

The absurdity of it all is that Fortran is already supported by `highlight.js`, Stack Exchange would simply have to enable it in their configuration.

It would be a good idea to try and reanimate this issue!
