I am currently using Geany as my Fortran IDE. I have heard good things about Code::Blocks and am considering migrating to it. Since they are both based on Scintilla, I guess the migration wouldn’t be too difficult. Just want to ask if anyone has experience with them and which one is better as a Fortran IDE.

I have no experience with either. Personally I use Visual Studio Code. With the extensions [Modern Fortran](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=krvajalm.linter-gfortran) and [Fortran IntelliSense](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=hansec.fortran-ls) you’ll get a rather nice user experience when writing Fortran code. There’s a guide walking through the setup of this and some other neat things [here](https://github.com/JHenneberg/Guide_VSCode-fortran).
