GCC has been accepted as a GSoC mentoring organization in 2023: [SummerOfCode - GCC Wiki](https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SummerOfCode) GFortran is concerned as you can see in the [Selected Project Ideas](https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SummerOfCode#Selected_Project_Ideas) (mentored by Tobias Burnus): - **Fortran – DO CONCURRENT** - **Fortran – 2018/202x** - **Fortran – run-time argument checking** - **Fortran – improved argument compile-time checking** But read also the [Other Project Ideas](https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SummerOfCode#Other_Project_Ideas) section, with for example “coarray support for SMP and distributed memory systems”. > **If you would like to be a GSoC contributor** with GCC and have a project idea or want to work on any of the ideas below, please discuss it as soon as possible (way before the application) via the [gcc@gcc.gnu.org](mailto:gcc@gcc.gnu.org) [mailing list](https://gcc.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gcc) (put “GSoC” somewhere to the subject) and feel free to raise it on [IRC](https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GCConIRC).
