# Categories for the Fortran-lang.org projects

When I tried to ask questions about `fpm`, I noticed that the questions did not fit completely as a new issue in github or that could divert the discussion in an already open issue. These questions also do not fit into the category `help` in the Fortran-lang Discourse.

Should there be specific categories for the Fortran-lang projects?

For example,

Project `fpm`

 --- Help
 --- FAQ
 --- Questions

```

Project `stdlib`

```auto
 --- Help
 --- FAQ
 --- Questions

```

Project `fortran-lang`

```auto
 --- Help
 --- FAQ
 --- Questions

Creating a new issue for a question at the repository seems the right way to do. At least for fpm we also have a separate [discussion board](https://github.com/fortran-lang/fpm/discussions) which could be used for questions as well. It is not as convenient to use as a discourse thread but a bit more flexible than a GitHub issue. This would cover the proposed help/questions categories.

An FAQ could go into the [project wiki](https://github.com/fortran-lang/fpm/wiki) or the [Ford pages](https://fpm.fortran-lang.org/), which are available for most projects already.
