UPDATE
While still in W.I.P state (not even alpha) the project has moved forward. First of all, I would like to thank @mskocic who helped greatly with the project by helping replace the fparse2 backend with FORD as suggested by @zedthree, as well as a other fixes.
We are still thinking whether this extension should be a “light” stand-alone wrapper around FORD for Sphinx. Or should it be integrated fully within FORD? your opinions are very much welcome! Open issue on FORD’s side Integration with Sphinx · Issue #662 · Fortran-FOSS-Programmers/ford · GitHub
